Nabila Village trip - one week ago today

We prepared for another wet and bumpy boat ride...

The tide was high enough that the boats could take us all the way into the beach.

Once were arrived in the village, they welcomed us to a Kava ceremony.

Shoes stay outside...

Near the end of the ceremony to her SMA members brought up their donations.

After the ceremony doctors started to get clinics...

Non-doctors got ready to go to the school.

More of the clinics...

Ben and I got a ride to the school to take all of the donations that were brought this year.

When we arrived at the school were caused a bit of a commotion.  The older kids had to keep to her younger ones in check...

Once the walkers arrived at school, the principal gathered the kids for the assembly.

The kids went crazy over their new toothbrushes!

At the end of the assembly, most of our group played sports with the school children while my dad and I went with ugh he head teacher into the library to see how it he toner cartridges I brought worked and to assess current tech needs.

The school now has Wi-Fi and 15 small tablets. Next year I will focus on technology training for to get teachers do they know what free websites they can use in the classroom. Hopefully they will have received his news about their proposal for a computer lab.

Around 2, we decided it was time to walk back to the village...

I posed for for pic on the clinic...

... Then it was time to eat and visit before leaving.

We left at low tide so it was a hike back to the boats...

Some people decided they would stay drier laying up in the front of the boat.

But the ride home wasn't too wet...
