The decision to blog about this trip...

This is my 6th time coming to Tavarua, Fiji. I always come with the Surfers Medical Association (SMA).

When the SMA comes to Fiji we do medical clinics in each of two villages: Nabila and Momi. These clinics last one day; we have also created partnerships with the schools in both villages. When I was 14, on my first trip to Fiji, I got to spend a whole day in the Nabila school. Many of the kids I went to school with are now adults working on the island. This makes visiting Fiji like coming home: I get to see people who I shared a childhood with.
When people ask about Fiji I find it hard to describe what makes it my favorite place in the whole world. I decided that a combination of pictures, videos, and text was the best way to share this experience with others. I will be here for 2 weeks and will do my best to document this experience.
